What! It's Friday already?

I am amazed at how fast the week went by. I am pooped.

So I won't dilly-dally with my answer for Book Blogger Hop. I need a cold drink. Gah, it's humid!

How/Where do you get your books? Do you buy them or go to the library? Is there a certain website you use like paperbackswap?

I get my books anywhere, everywhere, however, where ever. Beg, buy (garage sales, thrift stores, bookstores, where ever books are sold), borrow (from the library, friends, and anywhere else), trade or Bookmooch, and even rescue from the sidewalk. A book is a book is a book!

***

For The Friday 56, here's what you do:

*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56.
*Find any sentence that grabs you.
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url.

It's that simple!

My book for this week is:

This book of short stories talks about everything but happiness! Turning to page 56 relates to how a woman is reading a book, which recalls a sad past:
Here was where the writer would graft her ugly invention onto the people and the situation she had got out of real life, being too lazy to invent but not to malign.
***

Over at Follow Friday, this week's question is:

What do I do when I'm not reading?

Blog - about reading of course. Craft some. Eat some. Decorate some. Garden some. Dilly dally. Or sleep.

***

Ah, my cool drink is a-calling! Have a great weekend folks, I look forward to reading your answers!

  1. Oh, ouch. What a fantastically cutting sentence, although admittedly pretty dark. I know that Alice Munro is the grande dame of the North American short story, and if all her sentences are that fierce, she would have given Dorothy Parker a run for her money!
And I do just what you do when not reading. That and teach English and tend my chickens and pick the raspberries in the front yart (yum!) and act as the secondary 'alpha' for our neighbor's dogs (and their cat), and write, and...
Following right back atcha, as I admire your blog and your choice of books.
