For Friday 56:
“Now don’t you look flowerrific!” said Harmony with tears streaming down her chubby cheeks. Harmony had the biggest smile on her face."

I'm proud to say that the illustrator of this book, Marconi Calindas, is my highschool friend! So I'm even prouder to show off this lovely book with a strong anti-bullying message that he illustrated for his author friend Adam Cafege. I hope you all consider getting your hands on this one!
Synopsis: This story tells the tale of a very unique and special sunflower, Sonny, and his magical powers of healing. His superficial differences elicit feelings of despair and make him a target of bullying by the other flowers around him. Through the friendship and support of a few flowers and his innate strength of character, Sonny overcomes this dilemma and realizes his dream of being accepted for who he is.
Happy Friday!

  3. This looks like a wonderful read for children! Everyone experiences some kind of bullying, and it looks as though it's written at the perfect level for my grandbebes! I'm going to look it up!
