2013 TBR Pile Challenge

I think this is a fantastic challenge! It was cooked up by Adam at Roof Beam Reader (go check out the details). This year has been my year of subsisting on giveaways, which has opened me up to some fantastic and current reads, as well as introduce me to some new authors. Sadly, my TBR has just been growing (ok, understatement -- it's becoming uncontrollable) and I am not really getting around to any of them! Hopefully this will be the much-needed push for me.

The Goal: To finally read 12 books from my “to be read” pile (within 12 months).

My 2013 TBR Pile Challenge List:
  1. The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga [Man Booker winner]
  2. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald [classic]
  3. A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess [classic]
  4. The Woman Who Had Two Navels by Nick Joaquín [fiction, Filipino author]
  5. Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick [children's, graphic novel]
  6. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern [fiction] (first one!)
  7. Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder [fiction]
  8. Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami [fiction, Japanese author]
  9. Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri [Pulitzer Prize winner]
  10. Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde [fiction]
  11. Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond [non-fiction]
  12. The Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals by Michael Pollan [non-fiction]
Alternates:
  1. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury [fiction]
  2. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens [classic]
Wish me luck :)
