Friday 56 & Book Beginnings: Killer Image

For Friday 56:
Jamie would still wake up in a panic in the middle of the night, wondering why he couldn't walk or talk or crap on his own, his eyes rolling around an bulging from his head till Vaughn was afraid they would hemorhage.

For those who celebrate Halloween, I hope you all had a good time! I personally enjoyed handing out the candy ... and dressing up (I was a comic character, if you're curious, complete with over-the-top eyes and polka dotted face).

This week, I'm featuring a book that I thought would be some goth chick lit ... and I ended with a really great read! I'll be having a giveaway of this one soon.

Synopsis of Killer Image (An Allison Campbell Mystery) by Wendy Tyson: As Philadelphia’s premier image consultant, Allison Campbell helps others reinvent themselves, but her most successful transformation was her own after a scandal nearly ruined her. Now she moves in a world of powerful executives, wealthy, eccentric ex-wives and twisted ethics.

When Allison’s latest Main Line client, the fifteen-year-old Goth daughter of a White House hopeful, is accused of the ritualistic murder of a local divorce attorney, Allison fights to prove her client’s innocence when no one else will. But unraveling the truth brings specters from her own past. And in a place where image is everything, the ability to distinguish what’s real from the façade may be the only thing that keeps Allison alive.

KILLER IMAGE is the first in the Allison Campbell mystery series.

    1. I found this a surprisingly good read. That's all I say. It's less fluffy chick lit and more mystery. Really well written -- there are more great lines like that first line, Gilion!
