To Pieter, it barely mattered. He'd never known anything but the snow, and despite the bitter chill, he felt cheerfully optimistic.

Synopsis of Doctor Who: Tales of Trenzalore: The Eleventh Doctor's Stand by Justin Richards, Mark Morris, George Mann, Paul Finch: As it had been foretold, the armies of the Universe gathered at Trenzalore. Only one thing stood between the planet and destruction – the Doctor. For nine hundred years, he defended the planet, and the tiny town of Christmas, against the forces that would destroy it.

He never knew how long he could keep the peace. He never knew what creatures would emerge from the snowy night to threaten him next. He knew only that at the end he would die on Trenzalore.

Some of what happened during those terrible years is well documented. But most of it remains shrouded in mystery and darkness.

Until now.

This is a glimpse of just some of the terrors the people faced, the monstrous threats the Doctor defeated. These are the tales of the monsters who found themselves afraid - and of the one man who was not.

  1. When I moved to England 4 years ago I hardly knew about Doctor Who, but last year I got into a massive Dr. Who phase and cried my heart out over only 1 season of Christopher Ecclestone! Why?! Anyway, I have a Dr. Who book from Netgalley on my Kindle, you reminded me to finally start reading it! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great weekend!

    1. I just started watching last year! I was sort of disappointed when Christopher Eccleston had to be reincarnated. I liked his chemistry with Rose. Well, Juli, get to it ;) (Look who's talking hahaha)

  4. Although I've never read any Dr. Who books or watched the TV shows, your post today intrigues me. I should read at least one book, shouldn't I?

  5. I have watched the show since I was a little girl (in the US we watched Tom Baker in the 80s) but I have yet to read any of the books. This sounds like it has the same feel as the show. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Great excerpts! I should read some more Doctor Who this summer, as I (impatiently) wait for the new shows coming out in August.
