For Book Beginnings:
1. What is yoga? The word yoga means "union". Yoga is a form exercise based on the belief that the body and breath are intimately connected. By controlling the breath and holding the body in steady poses or "asanas", yoga creates harmony.
- p. 9
For Friday 56:
77. Why is relaxation important? Relaxing after the exercises can be the most important part of your yoga session. As well as leaving you with a calm mind and relaxed muscles, the final relaxation allows your body to absorb the energy released by the asanas, and to gain the maximum benefit from them.

Do you do yoga? I've had this little booklet for years and admit I'd forgotten about it. Tell me about your yoga exploits - would you read a book like this?
I love yoga and practice it 6 days a week. :-)
ReplyDeleteI added you to the Linky! Happy weekend!
I had no idea that yoga means union - huh! :)

ReplyDeleteI don't do yoga but I am interested in it - have always said I want to take up yoga but just never seem to get the time - here's my Friday meme
ReplyDeleteI like more active types of exercise, but I feel yoga has it's place too.
