Dickens would've been proud!

... of these cardboard shelves!

I know it's a little pathetic to be featuring a bookshelf when I really should be writing about Charles Dickens today as part of Charles Dickens Month. So I am interspersing some quotations from his works along with this bookshelf that is his namesake.

I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round -- apart from the veneration due to its sacred name and origin, if anything belonging to it can be apart from that -- as a good time: a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time: the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow-passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on their journeys. - A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

Check out these bookshelves up close after the jump ...

Minds, like bodies, will often fall into a pimpled, ill-conditioned state from mere excess of comfort.
- Barnaby Rudge by Charles Dickens

Up up close, the Dickens Bookshelf. Love the idea, hate the price tag.

Facts alone are wanted in life. Plant nothing else, and root out everything else.
- Hard Times by Charles Dickens
